Hey! I’m Shaheer, an MSU alum who co-founded Imagine Software and TA’d for CSE 231. Midway through my second year, I switched from pre-med to CS despite never coding before, and within two years I landed offers from Amazon, Waymo, and Robinhood, where I work today as a software engineer on the Prediction Markets team.

Whether you’re applying for internships or new-grad roles, or already working full-time and looking for your next role, book a time with me to get an honest and insightful resume review and career advice to land your dream role.

About my experience

For some context on myself: at MSU, I became the person people came to for resume and job-search help. I started doing reviews through the club because I remembered how confusing recruiting felt when I arrived. The engineering career center at school wasn’t updated for today’s market, everyone had a different opinion, and with so many new postings coming out every day, I didn’t know how to stay ahead.

Consequently, I spent countless hours researching resumes, refining my social media presence, talking to big-tech recruiters about what they look for, and understanding how to pitch myself correctly. As a result, I got interview after interview from career fairs at school and through cold applying, despite my lack of experience and technical expertise. This shows that landing a position at any company isn’t out of your reach, regardless of your background or technical expertise.

Outside of work, I spend some time helping friends and friends of friends who are struggling or looking for their next role. Due to a bit of demand, I started a Calendly booking page with a price. Resume reviews and job-search coaching are usually free through university resources, and that’s exactly why I can absolutely guarantee the most blunt, honest, and insightful review you’ve ever received. If you’re paying for it, I’ll make it more than worth it. One of my responsibilities in the club was placing members into projects based on their passion and what they truly wanted to learn, and I apply the same principle here.

What do you get out of a meeting

A meeting is both a resume review and career coaching, because the two go hand in hand. Resume reviewers at university and club resources traditionally react only to what’s already on the page, but landing a role takes much more than that. To figure out your best next steps, I’ll tailor your resume around your passions and the role you actually want, and pinpoint what you specifically need to change to position yourself better. That means an honest assessment of what you’re doing today to land your role and what needs to change, along with the support and resources to make those changes efficiently and optimally.

After you book, you’ll be redirected back to my site to upload your resume and share what roles you’re targeting and what type of company you’re aiming for. The more specific, the better!

I genuinely believe that if I was able to land these roles with only two years of experience, anyone can. Looking forward to chatting :)
